It can be more than a little difficult to find a parking space in central London.

But one motorist appears to have taken a novel approach to finding a space.

Pictures have emerged of a Citroën people carrier stacked on top of a group of motorbikes in prestigious Harley Street, Westminster.

Police said one woman had been treated for neck injuries following the accident after the car crashed into a lamppost shortly before 11.30am.

Twitter users appeared amused by the incident.

Andy Friedlander, a UFC Octagon Announcer, said: "Harley Street, London. Parking at its absolute stupidest."

Police have cordoned off the area close to the junction with Weymouth Street.

Motorists are advised to expect delays, Transport for London said.
