Three men were today found guilty of the murder of a nightclub doorman who was gunned down after refusing entry to a group of revellers.
Bogdan Paduret was shot twice in the head as he returned home from a shift at the Mayfair Club near Piccadilly in London on November 27, 2010.
John Otugade, 19, Christopher N'Jie, also 19, and Errol Jeffrey, 29, were all found guilty of his murder by a jury at the Old Bailey.
Around three weeks before his death, Mr Paduret had refused entry to a group of around 10 people trying to get into the club and a fight broke out.
Prosecutor Crispin Aylett QC said: "Tony Paduret had simply been doing his job, Nonetheless, Jeffrey and his friends must have felt that they had not been shown the respect to which they considered themselves entitled."
Romanian Mr Paduret was shot outside his house in Temple Fortune, north London, in front of his friend Constantin Cimpan, who had given him a lift home from work.
Otugade was the gunman, and fled on a motorbike driven by N'Jie. Mr Aylett said Otugade had "almost certainly never met" the victim, but was doing Jeffrey's "dirty work".
"Otugade was looking to make a name for himself - to acquire a degree of underworld celebrity," he said.
A fourth defendant, Troy Shaw, 20, from Poplar, east London, was cleared of murder.
Jurors are still deliberating over murder charges against a fifth man, Danny Dixon, 29, from Hounslow, west London.
Otugade, from Hackney, north London, N'Jie and Jeffrey, both from the Isle of Dogs, will be sentenced tomorrow or on Monday.
