Tottenham crash: woman fighting for life after being hit by lorry

A woman was left fighting for her life in hospital after being hit by a lorry in north London.

The 50-year-old victim was knocked down next to a bus stop in Tottenham High Road at about 9.30am on Monday.

Paramedics took her to an east London hospital suffering from serious injuries.

Her condition was described by police as "critical but stable" today.

The lorry driver stopped at the scene close to the junction with St Loys Road and has not been arrested, Scotland Yard said.

Officers from the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command have appealed for witnesses to speak to them.
