Cut-price shoes, dresses and suits from the wardrobes of Victoria and David Beckham were sold to delighted shoppers at a west London charity shop.

Bargain-hunters had queued for hours outside the British Red Cross shop in Chelsea after the famous couple donated 20 boxes of designer clothes to raise money for the Philippines disaster appeal.

One of the first to descend on the shop was Anoushka Wilson, 20, who emerged clutching a Dolce & Gabbana top she bought for £25.

The student from Earl’s Court said: “I got a bargain for this top which was actually worn by Victoria Beckham. We’re poor students so this is definitely up there as a good bargain.

“The part of the lure was that I could fit in her clothes and not many people can so I’m lucky.”

Another shopper, Jo-Anne Roets, 32, bought a black Dolce&Gabbana £100 suit which she says fits her “perfectly”.

She added: “I came here today to get some nice clothes which are designer but a good price and in London I wouldn’t be able to afford them.

“I like David and Victoria and the way they deal with their own celebrity status and this is for such a good cause.”

Not all of the purchases were to be worn personally. Steve Moss, 46, only queued for half an hour before he was able to buy a pair of Manolo Blahniks for £100.

The antiques restorer from East Dulwich said: “I ony paid £100 for them but as they’re Manolo Blahniks and Posh Spice’s shoes I reckon I could get them for a couple of grand on eBay.”

The excitement built on the cold November morning outside the British Red Cross shop on Old Church Street, Chelsea, as shoppers gazed through the shop window trying to assess the prices.

Denim jackets were on sale for a £50 and Beck’s suits for £100. The price tags on Posh’s glamorous dresses were hidden from view.

The collection included a few Posh Spice items she would probably rather forget, including a black velour “Victoria” tracksuit and a POSHspice t-shirt.

Also displayed were a black and white ‘Saturday Night Fever’-style Dolce & Gabbana suit worn by David Beckham and a black silk gown with a diamanté broach.

Dozens of pairs of Victoria’s signature boots were on show, as well as a tiny pair of pink Manolo Blahniks.

Benjamin Brazil, 32, from Queen Park, was “dragged out of bed” by his girlfriend who asked him to queue outside the shop because she had to go to work.

The property developer added: “We saw it on GMTV and she pulled the covers off and asked me to go and queue up to get some stuff for her.

“I’ve been here about 45 minutes and I’ve been briefed to get bags and shoes. There are apparently no bags so it looks like it will be shoes. She’s a size 5 and Victoria is a size 4 but I’m sure she’ll find a way to squeeze in.”

Personal assistant Andressa Fontebassi, 29, from Wanstead, said: “I’m here because I love Victoria Beckham’s clothes and her style is unique, special and sophisticated. It’s for people who love fashion.

“I’ve heard the pieces here will be around £100, which I think is a good price for a Victoria Beckham dress.

“She’s the same dress size as me so I’m one of the lucky ones.”

Some people arrived as early as 6am to wait in line outside the shop which opened at 11am, although disappointingly, the couple themselves were nowhere to be seen.
