Woman, 72, fighting for her life in hospital after being hit by a motorcycle in Old Kent Road

A pensioner is fighting for her life in hospital after she was hit by a motorcycle on a busy road in south London.

Police and paramedics were called to Old Kent Road, near the junction with Massinger Street, Southwark on Friday at 5.23pm to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a motorcyclist.

The woman was taken by ambulance to a south London hospital where her condition is said to be critical.

The male rider stopped at the scene and sustained minor injuries. He was not arrested.

Detectives today launched an appeal for witnesses who may have seen the collision.

Anyone who can help police is asked to call officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8285 1574.
