A young woman is fighting for her life after falling from a fifth-floor window in south-east London.

The woman, who is in her 20s, fell from a flat in Northend Road, Erith, at about 10am on Saturday.

An air ambulance flew to the scene and Northend Road was closed so the helicopter could land.

She was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition this evening.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Enquires continue to establish how the woman came to fall from the flat.

“Officers from Bexley are investigating the incident.”

No arrests have been made.
