There has been intense speculation within the BBC that Andrew Marr will have to cut back on live broadcasting and focus instead on his magnificent documentaries following his stroke earlier this year, as I reported yesterday.

However, the Londoner is delighted to report that the opposite is the case. The editor of the Andrew Marr Show, Barney Jones, confirms that Marr will be returning in full glory to host his Sunday morning programme on BBC1 and he has already lined up interviews with the big political beasts for the conference season.

Jones adds: “We were always hoping to have him back and I am delighted to say we are on course for his autumn return.”

Welcome back, Andrew.
