Andy Murray: better at winning than partying

Andy Murray left the Wimbledon ball early last night, before his mother Judy and girlfriend Kim. As the Londoner discovered last year, Murray isn’t a party man even after a victory.

When he won the US Open in September — his first Grand Slam title, in which Novak Djokovic was also his opponent — he went with 30 friends to Hakkasan in New York. Murray’s party went through 17 “Zesty Martinis” at $255 a bottle and two bottles of Louis Roederer champagne at $396, racking up $6,448 in the restaurant’s Ling Ling bar with a tip of $1,289 — and that was before they started on the spicy prawns and roasted silver cod. Murray’s share of the bill, then? One lemon soda at $6.
