Anna Chancellor, fresh from Downton Abbey, tells the Londoner she’s now off to another county: Sussex.

“ I am doing Mapp and Lucia, the vintage E F Benson girdle-gripper for the BBC,” she said, at Daunt’s in Holland Park, for the launch of former actor Damian Dibben’s Harry Potteresque book, The History Keepers: Night Ship to China.

It is also upper-class but with a good deal more satire thrown in than Downton Abbey: “I play Mapp and Miranda Richardson is Lucia. So hold onto your hats, good people of Rye. Here we come.”
