Back to school for a Lawson

Nigel Lawson

Another Lawson is upwardly mobile but not in the media like his father and siblings.

Tom Lawson, 35-year-old son of former chancellor Lord Lawson and his ex-wife Therese, is to become deputy head at Christ’s Hospital School in Horsham, West Sussex, this September (famous alumni include actors Roger Allam and James D’Arcy).

The younger half-brother of foodie Nigella and newspaper columnist Dominic, Oxford graduate Tom went to Eton, which Dominic detested.

Unlike Nigel and Dominic, both City journalists who became editors of The Spectator, and Nigella, who was once a Spectator columnist, Tom has not earned his living as a scribbler. Not yet anyway.
