Vicky Pryce used her time behind bars to write a book, Prisonomics, and now her former confidante, Constance Briscoe, will be doing the same. Briscoe, barrister and part-time judge, was on Friday sentenced to 16 months for perverting the course of justice in the speeding points scandal that saw Pryce and her ex-husband Chris Huhne locked up.

She has already started writing the book. Briscoe had a big hit with her misery memoir debut, Ugly. Her mother Carmen Briscoe-Mitchell, attacked as monstrous in Ugly, failed in a libel suit against publisher Hodder & Stoughton in 2008 . All this hasn’t put Briscoe off, though. “The book will be a continuation of her best-selling autobiographical books and will cover her time in prison,” said her agent. “Anything Constance writes is immensely readable.”
