Roger Mavity, chief executive of the Conran Group, showed off his creative talent last night with an exhibition of his sexually surreal photography at Mayfair’s Avenue restaurant.

Mavity selected some of his less risqué works to display in the restaurant. “I’d love to showcase the other photographs but maybe they’d be better suited to a book,” he said.

Perhaps he should get in touch with Ann Summers. A publisher at the party told me the store plans to expand into visual erotica. “Summers divide their customers into three categories,” the publisher told me. “Nervous, curious and experienced. The trouble is people tend to move swiftly through the first two and once they reach the third, they disappear into the dark realms of the internet.”
