Day at the Palace for a king of trim

When Lino Carbosiero, who cuts David Cameron’s hair, appeared on the New Year’s Honours list, the PM was accused of cronyism. But Lino says it is an award for the common man. “I talked to people from all walks of life,” he said of his day at the Palace. “No one questioned why I got it.”

Lino was given his MBE by the Prince of Wales. Charles, always in need of a trim, asked him about his work on the Hairdressing Council.

“He was so interested in the business. I felt like I needed to salute,” he said.
