Ditching papers has left Lord Patten out of touch

BBC Trust chair Lord Patten is still accused of being out of touch following the row over the Pollard Review. But is it any wonder if he doesn’t read papers, or the Londoner in particular? “Having largely given up newspapers, except the FT, I devour books on the bus and Tube, and read more than ever,” he writes in the Tablet.
