Angelina Jolie was a hot topic at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards 2013 at the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane attended by Cherie Blair and the Duchess of York.

Ernst & Young’s Sue Kukadia was presented with the RBS AWA Chairman’s Award and said Jolie was familiar with Ernst & Young’s work with ethnic minority women. “She is aware of our network,” she said, “and is very supportive.”

ITN news presenter Mary Nightingale was even more vociferous. “She should run for president. Angelina in the White House. She’s changed the game plan; shifted paradigms.”

Cherie Blair was more concerned with justice for women, and Asian women in particular. “It’s not a level playing field anywhere, particularly if you are slight and pretty. The view is that Asian women are submissive. But it’s better in this country than most places in the world.”
