Theatre impresario Sally Greene, pictured right with Bob Geldof’s partner Jeanne Marine, attended a Harper’s Bazaar literary event at the ESCADA boutique in Knightsbridge last night, where Fatima Bhutto read from her debut novel, The Shadow of the Crescent Moon. Bhutto, niece of former PM Benazir Bhutto, believes people have a false impression of how “downtrodden” Pakistani women are.

“Millions suffer but they struggle, resist and fight,” says Bhutto. “It’s a harsh country, an unfair country, but it also produces women with extraordinary spirit.” As demonstrated by Ms Bhutto’s ability to cope with coming from a cursed political dynasty.
