Gwyneth Paltrow makes difficult eating

It’s all Gwyneth Paltrow’s fault.

The Londoner recognises that the Hollywood star has been having quite a difficult week, but that is no excuse for over-popularising London haunts to the point where mere mortals can no longer frequent them.

André Balazs’s new Marylebone hotel, The Chiltern Firehouse, is “attracting quite the scene” trilled Paltrow in her latest Goop newsletter. “We snagged a seat... and were treated to Michelin-starred chef Nuno Mendes’s molecular gastronomy.”

Yesterday The Londoner attempted to do the same.

“We are currently very busy throughout the next three months. We do however have limited availability from the 6th of July,” came the reply. Have we been consciously uncoupled from our lunch plans?
