Gwyneth Paltrow's mixed message to Barack Obama

Hurt feelings: Gwyneth Paltrow
7 February 2014

What a week for men in power. First, a note claimed to be written by Rupert Murdoch’s ex-wife Wendi Deng extolled the virtues — “Good body. Butt” — of Tony Blair. Then Elizabeth Hurley was embroiled in since-retracted claims of an affair with former President Bill Clinton. Gwyneth Paltrow is the next victim of JFK syndrome.

“Presidents’ Day is around the corner,” she writes on lifestyle website Goop. “And while we are on the subject … Mr President, you are kind of dreamy.” Barack Obama, dreamy or otherwise, could claim mixed messages.

Paltrow is on the list of signatories on a letter sent yesterday urging him not to sign a trade agreement with Japan until the country bans its slaughter of dolphins. Not exactly a love note.
