India Knight faces up to the ex factor

Double acts aplenty next month, with King’s College hosting five nights of talks in which — while conversing with an MC of their choosing — writers will reveal the novels that changed their life. India Knight will discuss Nancy Mitford’s The Pursuit of Love with novelist Andrew O’Hagan, who happens to be her ex-partner and the father of one of her children.

While many would prefer not to share a stage with an ex, Knight has said that “the aftermath of romance is always more interesting than the beginning. The lead-up is always exciting… but I’m much more interested in what happens down the line and how people manage the expectations they had initially.” With admirable maturity, it seems.
