It’s all over to the V&A for an Italian

Vogue's English and Italian editors, Alexandra Shulman and Franca Sozzani, welcomed designers such as Valentino Garavani to a private dinner at the V&A last night. The event, with guests including Downton Abbey’s Elizabeth McGovern, celebrated the new exhibition The Glamour of Italian Fashion.

Shrinking violet Nancy Dell’Olio remained self-assured when asked if Italians do fashion better. “Yes,” she insisted, “we just do. There’s no why. We do everything better.” Perhaps not ballroom dancing, eh, Nancy?
