Actor Brian Cox, currently starring in The Weir at Wyndham’s Theatre, says his namesake, physicist Professor Brian Cox has become “the bane of my life.”

“He’s a remarkable young man and does a remarkable job but it’s irritating to be confused with him and asked to come on TV and discuss quantum physics,” says the actor in an interview for yesterday’s Observer. Faster than a particle whizzing around the Hadron Collider, Professor Cox retorted on Twitter: “I’m the bane of his life! He should see the look on my face when I turn up and they expect me to play Hamlet!”
