Jeremy Hunt stays in tune with a cultural side

Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt and his wife Lucia Guo attended a concert at the Arts Club in Dover Street entitled A Tale of Two Cellos, given by Julian and Jiaxin Lloyd Webber last night. Lucia and Jiaxin are both from China and have children of similar ages. The Hunts have a son and a daughter while the Lloyd Webbers have a daughter, Jasmine Orienta — named after Leyton Orient, Julian’s favourite football team, and her half-Chinese ancestry — born in 2011.

The programme for the Arts Club Classical Music Festival included works by Julian’s father William and his brother Andrew.

“We recorded it in January but this is the first time we’ve played it live in front of an audience,” Julian told me.

Musical life at the Lloyd Webber home in South Kensington could be easier now that Muck Flick, the German industrialist who had plans to excavate a swimming pool in a house next door, has sold up.
