Jewish Chronicle puts Valentine's Day back in its box

Valentine’s Day is in essence the celebration of a Christian saint but usually those from all walks of life hope for a bunch of roses at least. Not so at The Jewish Chronicle, which says the romantic holiday is unnecessary. “Valentine’s Day is a touch null and void for Jewish singletons,” Abigail Radnor writes today, “because they do not need a national holiday to scrutinise the cracks in their love lives. That’s what Jewish mothers are for.” Oy vey.
