To the new Brompton Asian Brasserie in Knightsbridge, where ladies lunching included singer Lisa Moorish and actress Nina Young.

The brasserie is the latest venture of Russian restaurateur Arkady Novikov. His fellow Muscovite Assia Webster, wife of jeweller Stephen Webster, was also dining and had a novel complaint about the local council, Kensington and Chelsea. It still demands coins in their parking meters, unlike go-a-head Westminster which takes money by text message. “So very last century,” she muttered over the sushi.
