Pippa Middleton is being targeted again. Last night, at the inaugral Fayre of St James in Piccadilly, a man dressed as Fagin honed in on the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister — he had to pick a pocket or two.
Pippa, who has been long-prepared for the festive season with her party-planning manual, didn’t seem so ready for the carol concert underworld. She was saved by her popularity, as Fagin couldn’t get close enough due to the swarm of guests around her.
Actress Penelope Wilton didn’t mind a carol concert — in aid of the Quintessentially Foundation — in November as she’s used to filming Downton Abbey’s Christmas episodes in summer. “It’s just what one does,” she said at Fortnum & Mason afterwards, while resisting attempts to get some hints on the plot.
