Michael Nyman misunderstands the Abbey habit

Michael Nyman’s bubble might have burst. As the Londoner reported yesterday, the composer was chuffed to be recording in Studio One of Abbey Road studios, on the map because of The Beatles, while Sir Paul McCartney was relegated to Studio Two.

“All of the Beatles’ recordings at Abbey Road were done in Studio Two,” writes one reader, “which anyone in the music business will vouch has better acoustics and a warmer sound than the larger Studio One.”
