Nothing beats standing on top of an audience, says Paloma Faith

Singer Paloma Faith has headlined the O2 but she can still understand why Prince would want to choose concerts at smaller London venues.

“It’s great to play to 20,000 people but nothing beats the tangibility of standing among, almost on top of, the people you’re playing for,” she says.

Faith, who was at the private view of the George Condo exhibition at the Simon Lee Gallery, also detects a more profound concept at work. “It’s sort of a socialist approach,” she suggested, “so I’m all for it. Ten pounds to get in! He doesn’t need the money.”
