Rise of the Blur philosophy

Not everybody has a very big house in the country — or in fact a house at all — which is why Blur’s Graham Coxon will be on stage on March 27 to raise money for homeless charity Shelter from the Storm.

He’ll perform an acoustic set at Shoreditch’s Mother Bar, around the corner from his own home.

The guitarist only discovered Twitter this year and has delighted fans with a hodgepodge of profound and humdrum insights. “The internet is magic but I think it should be destroyed,” he tweeted recently. Why? Because it’s “speeding up the process of the human race’s demise”.

This dystopian thought was swiftly followed by the more cheerful observation that “bangers and mash in bed is weird and beautiful”.
