Strokeable AA Gill gets pawed by admirers

You may not think of AA Gill as strokeable but last night the Sunday Times TV and restaurant critic was pawed affectionately by admirers. Gill was in the Anderson & Sheppard store in Clifford Street modelling a new range of ethical fur coats for men, created by Iceland’s master furrier Eggert Johannsson. Canapés served included horse, guillemot and shark, which Gill recommended heartily. Many guests did not agree. Gill said his coat was “Greenland seal, killed by Eskimos — how does one ethically kill an animal?” And being objectified as a model? “Second nature.”
