Property, Ecclestone-style. Tamara and Petra, daughters of F1 magnate Bernie Ecclestone, both have their old houses up for sale.

Tamara’s Old Church Street house in Chelsea is now available on the open market for £19,750,000. It was bought in 2007 for £10,750,000, meaning that the serial shopper’s velvet-heavy interior decorating has helped the property’s prospects and beaten the area’s average price rise of around 20 per cent. She has recently moved to a £45 million house in Kensington.

Petra, meanwhile, is hoping to sell her seven-storey Eaton Square home for £32 million. Her estate agent Knight Frank says there have been some “expressions of interest” but John D Wood, which is marketing Tamara’s property, is being shy with the Londoner and not returning calls.

Both homes straddle the concept of taste, with Tamara’s pile boasting a swimming pool, cinema and a room dominated by a giant sunbed, as well as a turntable car park, a separate building for staff, and books printed on wallpaper in place of the real things. Petra, shamefully, does not have an indoor pool but her artistic tastes are evident: a Terry O’Neill photograph of Raquel Welch on a crucifix adorns the lounge wall, while a Damien Hirst hangs above the dining room fireplace.

The sisters’ favourite rooms, though, could be assumed to be their walk-in wardrobes. Petra has two — she told a newspaper she needed one for casual- and one for eveningwear — while Tamara settled for one, though it does have a handbag conveyor belt.
