The Olympics did little to improve the health of civil servants toiling in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Staff days lost due to ill health has doubled since 2007, according to figures revealed in a Parliamentary answer by Maria Miller, the Culture Secretary. Those in Civil service pay grade D appear to be the biggest snifflers — their average days lost have soared from three in 2007 to 11.2 in 2011/12. Pass the tissues.
