The ties that bind the Tories and Tim Davie

Good to see George Obsorne David Cameron, Liam Fox et al at the Give Us Time fundraiser at the Corinthia Hotel last night all turned out in ties.

And thank goodness Tim Davie, acting BBC director-general, has “got a grip” on his sartorial style.

After much indignation at his open-neck shirt look, he wore a smart blue tie while hosting a reception at the Science Museum on the 90th birthday of the BBC.

Davie avoided all mention of the omnishambles at the BBC. But where does the tie come from? Does he own it or did he borrow it?

The BBC press office is looking into the matter.
