The VIPs were spilling over into the paddock

All forms of life were in the VIP lounge at Newbury on Saturday to see Nicky Henderson’s Triolo D’Alene win the Hennessy Gold Cup.

Princess Anne and hubby Vice-Admiral Tim Laurence, rapper Tinie Tempah, singer Elaine Paige, Joan Collins, Lord and Lady Carnarvon, actors Martin Clunes and Rob Brydon. Sadly, novelist Jilly Cooper was unable to make it because husband Leo was unwell.
