29 May 2015

George Galloway today said the “excesses” of the City of London were a blemish on the capital’s reputation and had to be curbed.

Mr Galloway, who lost his Bradford West seat to Labour at the election, said: “We need a police force for all Londoners, including those with the whitest of collars in the City of London.

“The City of London police can no doubt catch a pickpocket in Liverpool Street Station but they haven’t done so well about the grand larceny being conducted in the City over the last decade or more and that’s a cause of serious concern.”
