Jeremy Corbyn’s Twitter’s account was apparently hacked on Sunday evening, with the Labour leader seeming to post a string of expletive-laden tweets including “f*** Trident” and “davey cameron is a pie”.

The offensive messages were quickly deleted but not before some of them had been retweeted more than 2,000 times.

One which read “Here we… here we… here we f***ing go!!!” was shared 1,500 times, according to screenshots.

The four messages were posted to the leader’s 384,000 followers in the space of two minutes before control of the account was regained by Mr Corbyn’s team.

"At least they weren't subtle," a source told the Press Association.
