Product placements and sponsored posts are becoming increasingly commonplace, with the likes of Heineken shelling out as much as an estimated $45 million just to feature in 007’s Skyfall. Getting a celebrity or film to endorse your product is a pretty big deal, but one beauty brand has gone above and beyond to try and secure the ultimate name: Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex herself.

Skincare brand Biotulin has offered to donate $5 million (roughly £3.9 million) on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s behalf to charity - provided she return for a cameo in Suits... in which she uses their product.

Insider reached out to Biotulin, who confirmed the story is true, sharing an email addressed to two prominent members of NBC Universal, the parent studio that develops Suits. They proposed the unusual deal to CEO Steve Burke and Cindy Gardner, the executive vice president of global communications.

The email reads, “We are offering $5 million for an appearance from Meghan Markle on Suits. In return, Meghan should be observed using Biotulin.”

Biotulin is an anti-wrinkle skin gel which The Telegraph claims is loved by Meghan Markle’s sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. She’s not the only high profile woman to apparently favour the product, as Michelle Obama’s make-up artist told Yahoo that the former First Lady was a fan of Biotulin’s Supreme Skin Gel.

The email added that the $5 million would be “donated to the charitable organisation, One Young World, sponsored by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle”. Meghan Markle’s ties to the charity are deep as she previously served as a Counsellor and has worked closely with the organisation for years.

The Duchess also participated in two of their world summits: One in Dublin in 2014 and another in Ottowa in 2016.

Though we have a soft spot for Meghan Markle’s character Rachel Zane, a source told Harper’s Bazaar there are “no plans for her to return to the show”. In addition, they also claimed “[Suits] has not made a multi-million charity donation offer to Meghan to return for a cameo” - which probably means NBC Universal didn’t bother giving the the Biotulin offer the time of day.

When was Meghan Markle’s last episode on Suits?

Supplied by LMK

Meghan Markle’s final episode on Suits aired on 25th April 2018. It was not only her final episode, but also the last episode of the season and saw her exit the show with another of Suits’ leading actors, Patrick J. Adams.

If you’re not up to date with Suits and have plans to continue watching it, look away now or risk spoilers. Meghan Markle’s final episode pre-empted her own real-life wedding, as her character tied the knot with her biggest love interest - Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams.

Who replaced Meghan Markle on Suits?

Suits

Meghan Markle’s character wasn’t replaced per se, however actress Katherine Heigl eventually ended up joining the cast of Suits season 8. She stars as Samantha Wheeler, a law partner at fictional firm Pearson Specter Litt, alongside other series regulars Gabriel Macht and Rick Hoffman - both of whom attended Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding.
