iPhone users face a daily battle of trying to make their battery life and storage last as long as possible.

As it turns out, one hugely popular app could be thwarting Apple users’ attempts to keep their iPhones running for as long as possible.

An investigation from The Guardian revealed that deleting the Facebook app and instead using the Safari browser to access the social media site could save 15% battery life on the latest iPhone models.

The test was carried out on an iPhone 6S Plus, tracking the battery percentage across a week without the Facebook app installed (but keeping the Facebook Messenger app).

The report also revealed that deleting Facebook freed up roughly 500MB of storage space, including the 111MB app itself and cached data.

Those with the smaller, standard iPhone 6S might notice less of a dramatic change due to a smaller battery than the Plus, but will likely still see a benefit from logging in through Safari instead.
