Gamescom delivered for Halo fans in the Xbox One panel.

During Microsoft’s presentation, we were given a major look at the multiplayer modes in Halo 5: Guardians.

Guardians will be the first game in Microsoft’s iconic franchise to arrive on Xbox One, and with additional hardware power on the next-gen console they’ve added plenty of new multiplayer adjustments to get gamers salivating.

The trailer shows off new multiplayer modes including Warzone, 24-player battles, and Arena 4-vs-4 combat. There are new abilities too, including hovering boosts and power-slides, with the game promising to be “primed for players” and “perfected for pros”. Microsoft have claimed that this is “the most dramatic evolution in Halo multiplayer” ever.

The Microsoft panel also announced the arrival of a Halo 5 Guardians World Championship with a prize fund of over $1 million, which is set to take place before the end of the year.
