Get your favourite songs into a playlist - because soon you will be able to share your DJ talents with your nearest and dearest on Spotify.

The Leading music streaming service says they are looking to make their listeners’ experience the “most evolved ever” with a new idea to allow people to stream the same music and listen together.

The idea is that users can share either their own playlists for others to enjoy, or even create a playlist together - with people adding their own chosen songs to a queue to create a huge collaborative playlist and “get everyone involved”.

The collaborative experience has been designed to “make listening with your friends better than ever” and will allow you to share your favourite playlists with up to 32 people at a time.

Users will be able to share their blended and collaborative playlists by using the new Spotify Jam feature - which has been described as a “personalised and real-time listening session” that will be made available to “any group to tune in together”.

The jam session will start with a premium Spotify user starting the ‘jam’, as the main host by picking an initial song to be played.

The host will then invite their friends - who can be free or premium Spotify users - by tapping phones together using Bluetooth, scanning a QR code on the host’s phone or receiving a link.

Everyone in the ‘jam’ will then be able to add songs to the shared queue and see who’s added what.

A Spotify spokesman said: “Now, the music never has to stop because you need to “pass the aux”. With Jam, everyone can add their favorite tracks to a shared queue - using their own phones - without missing a beat. From family cookouts to cocktail parties, anytime you’re getting together – Jam is there to help make listening together better.

“As for hosting your first Jam, you could host the ultimate Halloween party, build the perfect playlist for a football Sunday, celebrate Friendsgiving with your crew or take a fall road trip with the whole family.”
