Singles on Tinder can today embed their favourite song within the smartphone dating app to woo potential matches with the same taste in music.

Users will be able to broadcast a signature “anthem” on their profile through an embedded button linked to the Spotify streaming service.

The new feature is described as “one single track that tells your story”.

No Spotify subscription is needed for embedding an anthem, but those with an account can also listen to extra tracks within Tinder and swipe to see who shares the same musical taste as them.

Sean Rad, Tinder’s chief executive, said: “With Spotify, we’re fully integrating music into the swiping experience in a brand new way - at a massive, global scale.

“With or without a Spotify account, you can choose to add an anthem to your profile and start swiping to see who shares your favorite songs and artists.

“With the addition of music powered by Spotify, we’re introducing an even more personalised experience on the platform.”
