A dog running loose on the tracks has caused severe delays on the District line.

Passengers attempting to travel between Edgware Road and Ealing Broadway / Richmond are facing chaos due to the canine trespasser.

Some have reported being stuck on trains while Transport for London staff attempted to retrieve the dog.

It is believed the dog ran from Bayswater to the next stop, Notting Hill Gate, on the tracks and remained there for around 45 minutes.

The official District line account posted on Twitter: “Severe delays between High Street Kensington and Ealing Broadway / Richmond due to a dog on the track.”

Some people have taken to social media to tweet their dismay at the delays. One, Scott Dance said: “There's a dog running about on the District Line between West Kensington and Earl's Court. My train's been stopped 3 times already!”

Guy Monk posted: “Stuck on district line because TfL are chasing a dog on the tracks."

Many have also shown concern for the dog, with Mark Lowe writing: “Hoping for good news about the dog who ran from Bayswater to Notting Hill Gate on the tracks please!”
