A Tube station was evacuated twice in the space of two hours after a passenger collapsed.

Green Park was closed shortly after 4pm for nearly half an hour and then again during rush hour, for about 15 minutes shortly after 6pm.

Both closures were related to the same incident after a passenger collapsed in the ticket hall, Transport for London said.

London Ambulance Service said a man was treated for chest pain and taken to hospital.

Crowds of rush hour commuters were pictured waiting outside for the station to reopen.

One tweeted: "So Green Park station is being evacuated and there are police officers everywhere. Kinda scary."

Another said: "Must be something serious going on at Green Park, station evacuated and staff running round like headless chickens."

The station reopened for a second time at about 6.25pm.
