Jubilee line delays: Rush hour chaos as signal failure causes severe disruption

Sebastian Mann17 May 2016

Commuters were this morning hit by rush hour chaos as the Jubilee line was suspended.

Transport bosses implemented crowd control measures at stations including Waterloo and Canada Water as passengers experienced severe delays on the entire line.

The route was also temporarily suspended between Stanmore and Waterloo while engineers raced to fix a signal failure at Baker Street.

Frustrated commuters took to Twitter to vent their anger.

James Taylor said: "Damn the @jubileeline is screwed this morning, glad I left earlier than usual."

While Jack Chang joked: "The jubilee line is trying to get me fired".

It came as several other routes also experienced disruption, with minor delays on the Piccadilly, District and Victoria lines.

Yesterday the Evening Standard reported that London Underground bosses were blaming certain delays on "excess sunlight" hitting drivers' rear views TVs.
