A London DJ has become an internet hit after getting a pizza delivered to his train as it passed through Darlington station.

Hungry DJ Artwork had just finished a gig in Glasgow at the weekend but, in his haste, forgot to buy food for a five-hour journey to Sheffield.

He asked some of his thousands of Twitter followers for suggestions and, when one came up with the idea of getting a pizza delivered, he sprang into action.

The south London-based musician called Domino's and ordered a Hawaiian, despite being unable to give a postcode for the delivery address.

After he made the order, Artwork kept his followers on the edge of their seats with updates about whether the food would make it to the platform, and into his hands, in time.

Later, he joyfully posted a video of the three Domino's staff handing over the food from the station platform.

He said: "They were blinding.

"Everyone was giggling. There was a big build up, waiting to see if it would happen.

"It was quite tense and I was starving."

Artwork said he will carry on his quest for train takeaways, after successfully getting a pizza delivered to a service passing through Kettering station on Sunday.

He said: "I've done it twice now. This is the challenge, I'm going to get larger meals. I think I will try a Chinese next."
