Motorists today faced three hour delays after a manhole 'collapsed' on one of London's busiest roads.
The westbound lane of the busy North Circular at Colney Hatch Lane, Muswell Hill, was blocked since around 6am this morning after brickwork underneath the hole caved in.
A spokesman for Transport for London said traffic is being directed to one lane while contractors fix the problem.
He said the A406 is not expected to re-open again until 2pm this afternoon.

Some drivers said they have been held up in queues for more than three hours this morning.
Sanjay Chadha wrote: “Over three hours and still stuck on the disastrous #A406…what a bloody mess #fedup @TfLTrafficNews.”
