A new plane rolled out on just five airlines worldwide could help to combat jetlag on long-haul flights.

The Airbus A350, which has recently started being used by Singapore Airlines, is reported to have a number of features which would help travellers from feeling groggy after travelling.

Conde Nast Traveler reported the 253-passenger jet is six inches wider than a Boeing 787 and boasts economy seats which are 18 inches wide and have 32 inches of legroom.

The aircraft features 12-inch wide HDTVs in economy which will help decrease passengers' eye strain and the pilot is also able to pressurise the cabin at a more comfortable level.

The difference in cabin pressure would work hand-in-hand with the humidification system which would prevent ailments associated with flying including a scratchy throat, dry eyes and dry skin.

A special lighting system used on board the plane will also help prevent jetlag by creating colours to mirror the natural phases of the day.

Other airlines which use the A350 include Qatar Airways, Vietnam Airlines, Finnair and TAM.
