Thousands held up by major delays on two Tube lines

 
Busy: more people than ever are using the Tube, according to new figures

Thousands of Tube commuters faced more disruption today with no Circle line services and the District part-suspended.

There were no District line trains between Embankment and West Kensington, Edgware Road and Parsons Green.

This was due to night engineering work not finishing on time.

Both lines later reopened in time for the morning peak but delays continued.

Central line trains were delayed due to a signal failure at Lancaster Gate.

Mainline rail commuters also suffered. Southern trains into Victoria were disrupted due to a broken down trains between Horhsam and Warnham'

London Midland trains into Euston were delayed due to trespassers on the line at Wolverton.
