Detectives investigating a serious sex attack on an eight-year-old boy have arrested a 15-year-old boy.
The local teenager was arrested on Tuesday and is currently being interviewed by detectives in connection with the attack in Alton, Hampshire, on Monday.
A 17-year-old man from the Alton area, who was arrested on Monday, has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
The youngster was attacked at about 5pm on Monday as he walked home in the Manor Road area of the town.
He was approached by a man who came out of an alleyway on a bicycle.
The man took him to a wooded area near playing fields at the rear of Manor Road and subjected him to a serious sexual assault, police said.
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Mathews said: "I am appealing for anyone who has any information about this incident to get in touch as they may have vital information that could assist our investigation.
"Detectives from Hampshire Constabulary's Major Crime Department will continue conducting house-to-house inquiries and officers will be examining the scene throughout the day.
"I would urge anyone who has any information about this incident to get in touch at the earliest opportunity."
