A 16-year-old boy has become the latest arrest in connection with a cyber attack on TalkTalk, Scotland Yard said.

Detectives from the Met Police cyber crime unit and officers from the National Crime Agency arrested the boy on suspicion of Computer Misuses offences after a home was searched in Norwich on Tuesday.

The 16-year-old remains in police custody while officers continue the hunt for suspects.

His arrest is the latest in relation to the alleged data theft at TalkTalk after thousands of unique bank account numbers and sort codes were accessed.

The firm said the data hacked was "significantly less than originally suspected" after fears millions of customers could have had their details stolen.

On Saturday, a 20-year-old man from Staffordshire was arrested on suspicion of Computer Misuse offences and bailed to a date in March.

On Thursday, officers arrested a 16-year-old boy from Feltham, west London following a search and a 15-year-old boy from County Antrim was also arrested in relation to the attack. The 16-year-old has been bailed to a date yet to be confirmed while the 15-year-old will answer bail in November.

The attack on its website took place on October 21.
