Some 2.6 million more special 10p coins featuring the likes of James Bond and the Loch Ness Monster have been released into circulation.

The fictional special agent and mythical creature are among an A to Z of 26 designs celebrating “what makes Britain great”.

Other designs include the full English breakfast, fish and chips, the Houses of Parliament and Stonehenge.

There is even one tongue-in-cheek design making fun of the famed British custom of queueing.

The 2.6m coins were released into circulation on Monday by The Royal Mint. A limited number had been rolled out earlier this year.

CEO Anne Jessop said: “These uniquely British designs were selected because we felt they represented a diverse mix of elements that make up the country we all love.

“We hope the British public is inspired to take part in the 'Great British coin hunt' by checking their change for those miniature works of art that spell out just some of the many iconic themes that are quintessentially British.”
